NFL Week 9 Results: Bills earn a 30-27 victory over the Dolphins with a huge 61-yard field goal

2 minutes, 6 seconds Read

It was a lot closer than the Buffalo Bills would have liked, but thanks to Tyler Bass' foot, they managed a 30-27 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

The Bills are the darlings of the aggressive AFC East, but they ran into trouble against the Dolphins, largely due to the outstanding performance of their versatile running back De'Von Achane. His touchdown in the 4th quarter is the reason the Bills came under pressure late in the contest. With the score tied 20-20 with about six minutes to play, QB Josh Allen made an incredible throw as the pocket literally collapsed on him. Quintin Morris scored a touchdown to give the Bills a 27-20 lead.

But the Dolphins kept the pressure on the Bills. With less than two minutes left, they managed to get off the field, tied the game at 27, and gave the ball back to the Bills with 98 seconds left. Bass, who had missed an extra point earlier in the game, had to face a 61-yard field goal with five seconds left, and he did it without fear. He took the kick and the ball sailed through the uprights, and the game ended after the Dolphins couldn't make a move in the final five seconds.

(Bye: Steelers, 49ers)
