SEATTLE – The Los Angeles Rams (3-4) travel north to take on NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks (4-4) on Sunday afternoon. The Rams are trying to keep the momentum going after back-to-back wins to climb back to .500 and control the NFC West.

Remember the rule of five. The game is over if the Jacksonville Jaguars win this important statistical battle. For those who don't remember, it has to do with sacks and envelopes. If the Jaguars have three sacks and give up two, they are plus-one. They have a plus-three if they commit four turnovers and give up just one. That would give them a plus four for the day. They want to achieve a plus-five ratio in every game. On average, teams that achieve the Rule of Five Scenarios win 91 percent of their NFL games.

With a season-defining home win last week over the one-loss Minnesota Vikings, the Rams are feeling rejuvenated with the return of their two star wide receivers. Second-grader Puka Nacua and eighth-grader Cooper Kupp were back in the game, combining for 157 yards and a touchdown.

Those two will be key pieces this week against the Seahawks' pass defense, which ranks middle of the pack in the NFL and allows 208.1 yards per game through the air. Kupp and Nacua, along with veteran Demarcus Robinson, will receive heavy targets from quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Nacua may play a more limited role than he did a week ago as he injured his right knee for the second time this season. He didn't practice Friday, but head coach Sean McVay expects Nacua to be healthy enough to play in Seattle.

The running game is where the Rams have the best chance of putting up big numbers. The Seahawks defense ranks fourth-worst in the NFL at stopping the run, allowing an average of 148.4 yards per game.

Third-year returning Kyren Williams should have had success as he had a rushing performance of 97 yards including a receiving touchdown. Williams has scored 10 goals this season, two of them through passing. He is likely to be involved in this aspect of the offense again.

There are several players inactive for Sunday's ballgame, starting with punter Ethan Evans (illness) and wide receiver Jordan Whittington (shoulder).

The remaining inactive players for Week 9 include nose tackle Neville Gallimore, quarterback Stetson Bennett, cornerback Tre'Davious White, running back Cody Schrader and outside linebacker Brennan Jackson.

The Rams would get the ball back and have a chance to tie or take the lead before the end of the half, but quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a ball downfield that was intercepted with 33 seconds left. On the same play, receiver Puka Nacua would be disqualified for throwing a punch on a Seahwawks defender.

Smith would drive his team back down the field and find Jaxon-Smith-Njigba for a touchdown score with five seconds left in the half. In less than 60 seconds, the Rams allowed two touchdowns to build a three-point lead just before halftime.

The Rams couldn't generate much on offense in the first two quarters of the game. Leading receiver Cooper Kupp has 81 yards at halftime and has been the only bright spot for the Rams' offense so far in the game.
