Current conditions

• Utah: Alta reported about 7 inches of new snow overnight, with the possibility of another 1 to 2 inches today.
• Colorado: Light snow will fall in Snowmass and Steamboat, but conditions are expected to improve. Heavy snow is expected from this afternoon into tomorrow morning.

Upcoming storm systems

• A cold front is moving through the region, bringing with it moisture that will lead to moderate snow accumulations in the mountains.
• The forecast suggests a large storm system will develop along this front, particularly affecting Colorado and New Mexico.
• This system is expected to continue and produce additional snowfall for several days.

Snow accumulation forecasts

• Colorado: Forecasts call for 4 to 8 inches of snow for areas like Loveland and Winter Park, up to 10 inches in southern regions.
• New Mexico: Similar forecasts suggest 5-10 inches for northern areas.
