Chris Jones cries fowl over Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith's hatred of Buffalo chicken wings.

The Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle defended the city's culinary specialty and praised Bar-Bill Tavern.

Smith made several recordings about the city of Buffalo, Bills Mafia and chicken wings during his first year with the Dolphins as a guest on The Dive Bar podcast in July. He called Buffalo “the worst place you can be.”

“Buffalo wings aren’t even good,” Smith said. “They’re not even good. I'm in Buffalo. I'm with them. All kinds of shots at Buffalo.”

Smith and the Dolphins are playing their first game in Buffalo since his comments Sunday. The Bills have won five straight against the Dolphins.

ESPN's Adam Schefter brought new attention to Smith in a tweet the morning of the game.

Jones disagreed.

“He's lying… Bar Bill's wings are going crazy.”

Bar-Bill Tavern has locations in East Aurora, Clarence and Penfield.

Jones is a five-time Pro Bowl selection with 78.5 career sacks who won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs. He has helped knock the Bills out of the playoffs in three of the last four seasons.

Here's what else Smith said about Buffalo over the summer:

“That’s why the fans hate so much, because they want to be down here. Have you ever been to Buffalo? Oh my God, man,” Smith said. “I don’t know how these guys do it. I don't know how they did it. I don't know how they did it, man. Go from anywhere in the country, man, and go to Buffalo. This has managed to be the worst place you can be.
