Opening night

• No. 24 Oregon State opens the fifth season of Chris Pendleton era against second-ranked Iowa on Saturday night.

Opening notes

• The Beavers will face a top-two opponent in the home opener for the second straight year. Last season, Oregon State hosted top-ranked Penn State as the defending champions.
• 2024-25 will mark just the second time a Pendleton-led Beavers team will open the season at home. The 2021-22 squad opened its season with a home three-header against Campbell and Lehigh.
• The only repeat opponent was Lehigh (2021 and 2022) in the season opener.

• Oregon State has played either Penn State or Iowa every season since the 2021-22 season.
• Saturday marks the eighth all-time meeting between the Beavers and Hawkeyes. Iowa has a 7-1 lead.
• This is just the second meeting against Iowa at Gill Coliseum since 2001, which the Hawkeyes have won.

• This is the seventh ranked game for the Beavers since last season. Six of the seven left the comfort of Gill Coliseum, one of them at a neutral venue in Hillsboro, Oregon.
