Friday night offers the Detroit Pistons an opportunity to build their first winning streak of the 2024-2025 NBA season. They are hosting the New York Knicks for the first time this season.

At the beginning of the week, the Pistons were winless in two games before facing the Miami Heat. Through three quarters, Detroit held a small lead against the Heat. However, the first win of the year would not come in South Beach.

A tough fourth quarter resulted in a fourth straight loss for the Pistons. The team remained positive as it took on the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

Due to some notable absences, the Sixers were shorthanded and still searching for early identity this season. The Pistons found a way to take advantage.

Since they controlled the game all night, the Pistons just had to make sure they found a way to finish the game on top. The Pistons not only got their first win of the season, but they also did it convincingly against a struggling Sixers team.

Friday's game will be against another Eastern Conference playoff contender. Last season, the Knicks won the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs before falling in the second round. During the offseason, the Knicks made some big moves to strengthen their roster as they attempt to win the title.

Cade Cunningham faces the Knicks.

The Pistons went with that starting lineup on night one and haven't looked back.

At the start of the season, there were questions about Jaden Ivey's fit alongside Cade Cunningham. The backcourt duo has shone so far.

As for offseason acquisitions Tim Hardaway Jr. and Tobias Harris, they've found the right fit. Harris had a lot more to offer, but his rebounding was a big help for Detroit. As for Hardaway, his shooting decline in the preseason did not carry over into the regular season. Therefore, his place as the team's starting striker is secure.
