The Cleveland Browns are 2-6 and atop the AFC North and have recently started shedding pieces by trading wideout Amari Cooper.

The NFL trade deadline is November 5th and many have speculated that Cleveland will continue to trade high-priced veterans and begin rebuilding. Players who could be moved include All-World defensive end Myles Garrett, a five-time Pro Bowl player and three-time first-team All-Pro.

Should Cleveland indeed decide to go that route, SportsCasting.com has made the Green Bay Packers the leading candidate to acquire Garrett.

The betting odds for Garrett's next team are:

• Green Bay Packers: -110

Detroit Lions: +400

•Chicago Bears: +400

Philadelphia Eagles: +900

• Washington Commanders: +900

Garrett, the No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft, has spent his entire career in Cleveland. He compiled 92.5 sacks, forced 19 fumbles, five fumble recoveries and 16 passes defensed.

Garrett was the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year when he had 14.0 sacks and forced four fumbles, a career-best.

However, Garrett has only played in three playoff games, and Cleveland is 1-2 in those contests. The Browns — who badly missed out on trading for quarterback Deshaun Watson — are facing a rebuilding phase, which means players like Garrett could become available.

The Packers are currently $14.658 million under the NFL's salary cap, which ranks 12thTh in the league. Garrett is in the third year of his five-year, $125 million contract. His maximum earnings are $20.17 million in 2024, $19.72 million in 2025 and $20.37 million in 2026.

With some salary cap maneuvers, the Packers could make his contract fit.

The Packers (6-2) are ranked 10thTh in sacks per game at 2.6 and are seventh overall with 21.0 sacks. However, Green Bay is missing an elite pass rusher as defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt leads the team with 3.0 sacks, both defensive end Preston Smith and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper have 2.5 sacks and three others have 2.0 sacks.

Green Bay has tremendous depth on its defensive line and could include a young player or two in a trade for Garrett. The key, of course, is whether Cleveland would be willing to sign an elite talent like Garrett.
