Film fans were left seriously impressed by an actor's transformation into Marlon Brando for a new biopic.

Many actors have changed beyond recognition for their roles, Colin Farrell is the latest to do so for his role in acclaimed HBO series The penguin.

But there's a new person poised to take the crown as perhaps the most impressive transformation in recent years.

Brando has become a star for a new film called Waltz with Brandowhich focuses on the actor between the ages of 16 and 1974, when he played the lead role The Godfather And Last tango in Paris.

Waltz with Brando will feature the actor as Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 gangster film, for which he won Best Actor at the Oscars, and film fans were stunned when a still from it was released online.

But can you guess who it is?

This is not a picture of Brando The Godfatherbut actor Billy Zane plays Brando The Godfather.

The cast of Zane, whose credits include Dead silence And TitanicHe has stunned rando fans who agree that the actor looks just like him in the photo.

“You could have said this was a photo of Marlon Brando and I would have believed it,” one stunned social media user responded when the photo surfaced online, with many others agreeing that they believed the photo was Brando , when they first saw it.

One person wrote: “There’s no way that’s Billy Zane. I can't recognize him,” and another concluded: “This might be the greatest casting ever…”

Waltz with Brandowritten and directed by Bill Fishman, is described as “the little-known but absolutely true story of how Marlon Brando convinced architect Bernard “Bernie” Judge that together they could create the first ecologically perfect retreat on one of the tiny, uninhabited islands.”

The synopsis continues: “Brando believed that this grand ecological experiment would inspire the world to create a better, more sustainable future,” the synopsis continues. “So Bernie, the practical problem solver, and Brando, the spirited dreamer, embark on an incredible adventure and become unlikely friends along the way. But will this dream ever come true?”

There is currently no release date for the film.

Brando, whose other films included A tram named Desire, Boys & Dolls And On the waterHe died in 2004 at the age of 80.

Last month, horror fans were tricked into watching a new film Smile 2 after the “brilliant” casting of the son of a famous Hollywood actor.

Just like SmileIn the film, which starred the daughter of film star Kevin Bacon, the sequel also stars the descendant of a fairly recognizable character – whose face was plastered on eerie posters for the film.
