The arrival of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Indianapolis means numerous road closures and traffic changes downtown after the concert on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's announcement of these changes confused some Swifties, so IndyStar dug deeper.

Similar to how traffic is handled after Colts games at Lucas Oil Stadium, access to Interstate I-70 will be closed at the West Street, Illinois Street and Meridian Street exits when the show ends. According to IMPD, many downtown streets will also be closed each evening after the concert to protect pedestrians. The full list can be found at the end of this story.

So how do drivers get through the maze of closed streets and out of downtown Indianapolis after the concert?

Leaving the Lucas Oil Stadium area after the Taylor Swift concert

If you parked within the concert zone, you can use the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police map to plan your exit by following the southbound arrows and passing under I-70.

The only drivers allowed onto the stadium grounds at the end of the concert are parents, guardians and carpool drivers picking up concertgoers. Other drivers will not be able to access the section of West South Street located between South West Street and South Delaware Street.

According to the Lucas Oil Stadium website, gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 6:45 p.m. Most road closures don't start until 11 p.m

Ride-sharing and parent drop-off and pick-up areas

There will be a pick-up location for parents and rideshare drivers in a parking lot near Delaware and South streets from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police said parents must be in or in line near the parking lot by 10 p.m. to access streets within the zone that turns them off.

Volunteers regulate traffic flow as concertgoers are picked up. From South Delaware Street, drivers can continue south under I-70 to exit the zone.

The parking lot cannot be used as a parking space during the concert.

A standalone rideshare pickup zone on South Street between Missouri and West Streets will operate from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Only Uber, Lyft and other rideshare drivers will be allowed access to this area. You must travel down South West Street to pick up riders and can either continue south under I-70 or head west on Kentucky Avenue to exit the zone.
