The Flyers picked up another decisive victory with a 2-1 decision over the Blues at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night.

Bobby Brink scored the game-winning goal with 3:01 minutes left in the third period. Samuel Ersson delivered the goods online on Halloween. He made an excellent save on a redirection with 20.2 seconds left.

Noah Cates followed with a big blocked shot to secure the win.

Garnet Hathaway scored the game's opening goal in the first period after Ryan Poehling made an electrifying rush up the ice.

The Flyers (4-6-1) won consecutive games for the first time this season. After giving up four or more goals in seven of their first nine games, the Flyers have conceded just one in these two straight wins. They were able to build on the 2-0 scoreline against the Bruins on Tuesday evening.

“I would like us to play two or three games in a row,” head coach John Tortorella said during the morning skate. “Then it starts to become instinctive, the way we play. I think we showed more of our identity against Boston, what our level of play is and our style of play, aside from some issues on offense. But you have to put two or three in one.” Row, so that's the concentration, that's what our meeting this morning was about.

After a six-game losing streak, the Flyers have won three of their last four games to provide some stability.

Tortorella's club will face the Blues (5-6-0) again in a month when they visit St. Louis in late November.

• After a 23-save shutout against the Bruins, Ersson stopped 20 of 21 shots against the Blues.

St. Louis finally got a hold of the 25-year-old midway through the third period when Nathan Walker sank a rebound.

Aleksei Kolosov assisted Ersson for the second game in a row. During the morning skate, Tortorella confirmed that the Flyers are currently going with the 22-year-old as their No. 2 pick. Ivan Fedotov, the third goalkeeper on the club's roster, has shown a healthy edge in the last three games, having given up 14 goals in three starts.

“Ivan had a few games and we weren’t happy with his game,” said the head coach. “We will look at Kolosov. To me, that's exactly how I feel about it. I'm not sure where this is all going as a grand plan as we move forward here, because we also have to think about the Feds, also to buy him some time.

St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington stopped 19 of the Flyers' 21 shots

• Poehling got the Flyers' offense on his side midway through the first period when he went coast-to-coast and forced his way through the Blues with a series of maneuvers to set up Hathaway's goal.

Highlight reel stuff from the 25 year old center.

• Nick Seeler blocked a shot with his left hand in the first period. His effort was met with applause from fans as he got back to his feet and ran away in pain. The defender was lively when he arrived on the bench.

The Flyers have struggled offensively, but in the last two games they have defended like a Tortorella team.

• Matvei Michkov remained goalless for the third game in a row. He looked tired Thursday night and wasn't his usual puck chaser. It just seemed strange to me.

The 19-year-old rookie still has nine points (four goals, five assists) in 11 games.

• The Flyers are scheduled to practice in Voorhees, New Jersey, on Friday before hosting the Bruins on Saturday (1 p.m. ET/NBCSP).
