Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear got into the Halloween spirit on Thursday as he opened his weekly press conference in the guise of none other than your favorite American and British football coach: Ted Lasso.

Beshear was dressed to the nines in Lasso's signature aviator sunglasses, button-down shirt, visor and the iconic blue and white quarter-zip. It seems like the governor was just missing Lasso's pipe to complete the look.

The governor remained in costume for part of the livestream before changing back into his suit.

Who is Ted Lasso?

“Ted Lasso” is an Apple+ television show that follows American football coach Ted Lasso, who is tasked with managing a struggling English Premier League soccer team. Lasso, played by comedian and actor Jason Sudeikis, is an optimistic character who has captured the hearts of the show's viewers.

The show premiered in 2020 and was originally only supposed to have three seasons; However, a fourth season is reportedly in the works.

“We always wanted it to be three seasons,” producer and star Brendan Hunt previously told Entertainment Weekly. “I think it would be pretty cool if, given how much everyone enjoys this show, we stuck to our principles and really only did three seasons. But none of us were as committed to this idea as Jason was prepared to the extent that people love this show.”

Since its premiere, “Ted Lasso” has won 13 Emmy Awards, including two consecutive awards for Outstanding Comedy Series (2021, 2022).
