Everyone is a villain, especially Vanessa Lachey

The Love is blind The Season 7 reunion dropped last night and with it came the answers to our burning questions. Somehow.

First, Tyler Francis, who I think the internet owes an apology to, myself included (so to speak). Tyler was the guy who got in trouble because he waited until after his engagement to tell his fiancé that he had donated sperm to former friends so they could start a family. Then one of the mothers in question took to Instagram and accused him of lying about his involvement in the children's lives. I felt like it was a complicated, emotional situation that wouldn't look good on TV and that maybe we didn't know the whole story.

Turns out that was true. Tyler and his fiancée Ashley Adisoner are still firmly married, and he explained that he did Tell her about the situation with his former boyfriends and their offspring before they got engaged, off camera because he wanted to protect her privacy. I respect that very much. What bothered me was that Ashley felt they should have one version of the conversation To camera because anything else would be fake in their opinion. So the conversation we saw made it seem like she was hearing this information for the first time and essentially forced him to lie about whether or not the kids knew what he looked like because he wasn't on camera she wanted to speak. So, yes, super authentic!!

I think the takeaway here is that Tyler got a little too deep into a situation he couldn't handle, and that led to some awkward conversations. But it's interesting that the core of the problem for the show hinges on a perennial problem for reality TV across the genre: what the contestants are hiding from the cameras.

Exhibit B: Steven Smith, the sleep test guy. Steven was on the defensive from the jump when co-host Vanessa Lachey made a joke about things going on off-camera, hurling a lazy “Hello, Steven” to his sofa in the corner and promising to catch up with him later to report. Thus began the pathetic display of a broken man essentially throwing his hands in the air and saying, “I was tempted, it was a year ago, it was a big mistake, I regret it and I'm sorry – what the.” What else would you do? “Do you want me to do it?” It also turns out he suffers from sleep apnea. So, you know, cut him some slack? I don't even feel the need to spend more time with him, he's already pathetic enough.

Vanessa's other victim was Ramses Prashad, who had to endure several “graduation” jokes from the presenter because he was the type of guy who didn't want to have condom sex. Unfortunately, there is one every season.

Ramses earned the wrath of the internet when he broke up with his fiancée Marissa George on their wedding week because he didn't like her “energy.” Marissa's meltdown on camera was barely visible, and she didn't seem to be doing much better at the reunion a year later. I get it – it was whiplash. He used to seem to like her energy, except of course when she wanted him to wear a condom during sex. He didn't have much to say at the reunion to make his point, and his wardrobe hasn't improved much either. So it sucks to be Ramses right now.

Speaking of wardrobe, the only win of the season went to MINT couple Garrett Josemans and Taylor Krause and their glow-ups. Well, Taylor already looked great, but her influence clearly broke Garrett out of his shell. The man walked at Fashion Week!

These two are one of the best couples to ever come out of the show and I think that's because they both said they went into the show with no expectations. At least they knew it would be an interesting experience and that they would learn something about themselves – neither of them thought they would meet their future spouse. This creates an authentic connection compared to her co-stars' desperation for love and/or fame.

But Garrett wasn't the only one beaming: Hannah Jiles, who apologized to her former fiancé Nick Dorka for being “cruel” to him, looks great.

However, I didn't like the narrative about her looks and the fact that this was the problem in her relationship with Nick. The biggest disagreement was whether or not he called her a “grenade” behind her back after he first saw her, and how he allegedly told her co-stars that he wasn't attracted to her. Since none of this made it on camera, their entire relationship seemed one-sided: Hannah was the mean, loud lady and he was the sweet boy just trying to survive. Mrs. Lachey would definitely make Hannah apologize for her harsh words, but Nick's feet didn't hold the fire in the same way.

This happens often Love is blind Theme: The men turn Galavanters into women and the women are too much to handle. In this scenario, no one ends up looking good; Everyone is a villain.

Except Garrett and Taylor.
