Enjoy incredibly good Halloween specials and events

Halloween is a time for things that happen in the night and scary movies (which I love). 'Tis also the time for some cool specials from Chicagoland restaurants. Below you will find just a few offers:

– Gold Coast spot Dearly Beloved will host Halloween masquerade event on October 26, 9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. A $40 ticket includes two drinks and a mask – but you are welcome to bring your own. RSVP here.

– Tata’s Tacos Spots will be selling spooky tacos from October 29th to November 29th. 2 and a costume contest on October 31, 6-8 p.m. (each location). The spooky menu features spooky tacos like Brain (Cauliflower), Chicken Feet, Guts and Scorpion Llorona as well as Diablito Chocolate Cake and creative drinks like Smashed Zombie and Black Widow. As for the costume contest, the winner will receive $100 cash while the second and third place winners will receive gift cards from Tatas Tacos.

– Frontier is known for its unique dishes featuring everything from antelope to frogs – and Halloween will be no different. The spot will host on October 31st at 6 p.m “Where the wild things eat” Gator Dinner with courses that include grilled octopus, a whole smoked gator (with Caesar salad, jambalaya, mac 'n cheese and skillet vegetables) and molten blood red velvet cake. —Hard Rock Cafe Chicago will host a Spooktacular Howl-A-Ween Dog Fashion Show on Thursday, October 31, 5-8 p.m., which will support the Anti-Cruelty Society. Guests can enjoy music, small bites and sweet treats; You can also shop local pet retailers such as Doggy Glam Boutique, Comicos Pet Bakery, Boujee Pups Accessories, Munchbird, Sam Park Pet Portraits, Sploot Veterinary Care and Kimberly Kingen Pet Photography. —Hosted by Bodega Taqueria y Tequila in River North The Queen of Hearts Wonderland for an exciting Halloween weekend on October 26th and 27th from 9 p.m. Attendees enter a 1920s-style speakeasy presided over by the Queen of Hearts. The event features DJ sets, drink specials and live entertainment. Guests can expect to encounter dark, shadowy creatures as they explore the chaotic world of Wonderland. – Wear your Halloween costume when you dine at Café Ba-Ba-Reeba on Saturday, October 26th and Thursday, October 31st! and get your choice a free dessert tapa. Choose from sweet treats like the Marcona Almond Caramel Bar, Chocolate Truffle Cake, Butterscotch Pudding and more. This spooky bargain is only available to guests dining on site.

– Enjoy spooky holiday cookie treats at Lincoln Park spot Summer House through Thursday, October 31st. Stop by the Cookie Bar in front of the restaurant for pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies, a crunchy Count Chocula treat, festive sprinkle cookies and candy corn.

– Enter this Halloween Silver Scream at I|O Godfrey on Saturday, October 26, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The roof of the I|O Godfrey is transformed into a haunted theater where horror films come to life. Guests check in at a spooky ticket booth, pass a spooky concession stand and stroll through a maze-like theater filled with homages to classic horror films. There's a full menu of horror-themed dishes like the Butcher's Skull Board and the Scream Supreme Pizza until 11 p.m. Featured cocktails include Midnight Freeze, Alien Blood, The Substance, and Sangre Sangria (and these drinks are all available through October 31st). Tickets range from $45 to $2,400.

—Old Town LG's Bar & Kitchen is celebrating Halloween all month long. The Irish-American bar tops it all off with a pumpkin carving event on October 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. a murder at the Masquerade Cocktail Party on October 30, 7-10 p.m.; and Halloween Trivia Night on October 31st from 7 to 9 p.m

– The three concepts of the Bonhomme Group – Bambola, Coquette and Expat – are combined into one building-wide Halloween event on October 26th offers a variety of experiences in the hotel group's Fulton Market hub. The fun begins at 10 p.m. when guests are treated to multiple rooms and multiple sounds inspired by the films of Baz Lurhman and Stanley Kubrick.

Additionally, on October 31st, Expat and Bambola, together with advertising partners We Hate Clubs, will host a day of Halloween festivities with hip-hop and R&B sounds as well as a costume party. This event is free.

—Untitled is having a pretty cool event on Halloween. Prepare to be accepted into the secret society of Unbridled The Order of the Red Veiltakes place from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Vintage Prohibition-era glitz and glamor meet the macabre as the Dark Goddess is summoned – and more than 20 burlesque, vaudeville, circus and aerial acts will perform in every room of Untitled.

—To mark its three-year anniversary in October, Central Park Bar is hosting a Halloween emo costume party on Thursday, October 31st, on the terrace. Starting at 9 p.m., Emo Night begins with a DJ playing classic emo music and themed drink specials. Guests are encouraged to dress up in Halloween attire and there will be prizes for the best Halloween costume.

Spooky drink specials include a Dead Rose Shot with Jägermeister and Four Roses Bourbon ($8), a Friendly Ghost Shot with Tito's, Ghost Blanco Tequila and Amaretto ($8), and 16-ounce cans of Pumpkin Beer ($8). Guests can also get the festivities started earlier with a half-price happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m

—LondonHouse Chicago will host an enchanted carnival on Saturday, October 26th, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. This immersive event includes the LH on 21 Lounge, the Etoile Ballroom and the LH on 22 Rooftop, each offering a festive carnival atmosphere with spooky surprises.

Guests can enjoy a first class bar from 9pm to 1am and live DJ entertainment throughout the night. The evening will also feature a costume competition at midnight, where the grand prize winner will receive an overnight stay at LondonHouse and two tickets to the exclusive New Year's Eve event, while the runner-up will win two tickets to the New Year's Eve party. Tickets for the Oct. 26 event include a four-hour premium open bar, costume contest, snacks, party favors and live DJ entertainment. RSVP here.

—Cody's Public House will host several events, including one “Once Upon a Time at Cody’s Halloween Party” (October 26, 6-9 p.m.), a dog-friendly Howl-O-Ween costume contest to benefit ALIVE Rescue (October 27, 3 p.m.) and a pumpkin painting competition (October 29). The Halloween party is Quentin Tarantino-themed and the best dressed guest will receive $250. Drink specials also include $30 High Noon buckets, $7 Camarena tequila and Rumchata Pumpkin Spice Latte shots – and there will be a Rumchata Pumpkin Spice Latte tasting.

– Lake View spot Lark is hosting “The Beetlejuice Halloween Drag Brunch” on October 26th with two seatings (at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.). One ticket includes six unlimited drink selections, an appetizer and a brunch entree. The cast includes Vivian De Jour, Ari Gato, Luc Ami and Pixel. RSVP here.

– The Emily Hotel spot that Fora has spooky cocktail specials until October 31st. These include Witching Hour, which contains ketel, lemon, limoncello, soda and black luster dust ($18); and the Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned with Buffalo Trace, pumpkin spice, cardamom bitters and nutmeg ($18).

– Easy Bar will host Annual New Belgian Pumpkin Carving Competition On October 30th at 7 p.m., New Belgium will provide free pre-hollowed pumpkins and carving tools for guests to get creative. Seasonal drinks include a pumpkin spice margarita with Espolon Blanco tequila, pumpkin syrup and lime ($12); Purple Drank with Empress Indigo Gin, Veev Acai, lemon, simple syrup and soda ($12); and the Pain Ke'iller with Plantation Pineapple Rum, Keke Key Lime Liqueur, orange juice, nutmeg and a gummy worm ($11). In addition, there is free swimming pool all evening.
