Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins are out for Warriors vs. Pelicans

1 minute, 55 seconds Read

The Golden State Warriors prepare to play a rare consecutive home game against the New Orleans Pelicans as they look to bounce back from their first loss of the year on Sunday. However, it won't be easy as the Warriors are missing some of their key players. But they won't get much sympathy from the Pelicans since NOLA also has some key players behind.

Here is the full injury report for today's game, which begins at 7:00 p.m. PT.

warrior

Out of — Steph Curry (left peroneal trunk)

This is not new news for the Dubs. During the rest day on Monday, the Warriors announced that Curry would miss both halves of back-to-back games and would be re-evaluated on Friday before the team begins a five-game road trip. Heal thyself, Steph!

Out of — Andrew Wiggins (back strain)

Curry isn't the only Warriors All-Star who will miss the game. Wiggins, who has had an excellent start to the season and was by far the team's best player in Sunday's loss, will also be out. The back is picky so I hope it's back soon.

Out of — De'Anthony Melton (inflammation of the right side of the face)

Like Wiggins, Melton will miss time due to a surprise at the back. And like with Curry, the Warriors have already announced that Melton will also miss Wednesday's game and will be reevaluated on Friday.

Available — Brandin Podziemski (face mask)

Podz will likely be on the injury report until his face mask falls off after breaking his nose in the preseason. But there doesn't seem to be any danger in keeping him out of games at the moment.

Pelicans

Out of — Dejounte Murray (left hand fracture)

Murray was a sneaky addition for the Pelicans this offseason, but unfortunately his NOLA tenure got off to a terrible start when he broke his hand in the season opener. He underwent surgery and is expected back in about a month.

Out of — Trey Murphy III (right hamstring strain)

Murphy had a very strong season last year that earned him a four-year, $112 million rookie extension right at the deadline. Unfortunately, he hasn't played yet this year and is still more than a week away from returning to the field.

Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
