Halloween Warming; A weekend cooldown period follows for Marylanders

1 minute, 5 seconds Read

Temperatures across Maryland are rising, leading to an unseasonably warm Halloween.

Wednesday will be a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the high 70s. It will be a perfect day for a corn maze, pumpkin patch and other fall festivals.

The warmest temperatures will occur tomorrow when highs rise to the upper 70s and lower 80s under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain warm tomorrow evening and into the night, making for a great trick-or-treating forecast.

The next weather maker, a cold front, will follow and lead to showers on Friday morning. The rain will be light and patchy, and not everyone will get rain. Otherwise, highs will reach the upper 70s.

Today is the 28th day in a row without rain, but if rain is measured at BWI, the dry spell will end. Currently, more than half of the state is unusually dry. Just over a third of the state is suffering from drought, so any rain is beneficial.

After the cold front on Friday, temperatures will be significantly cooler on Saturday and Sunday. Highs will peak in the low to mid 60s. This cooling will be short-lived as warmer temperatures return during the work week. Highs will reach the upper 60s on Monday. Highs on Tuesday will reach the mid-70s.
