Customers are worried as downtime reaches three hours!

As customers wake up and prepare for work, the service remains completely down, leaving users increasingly concerned about the impact on their day.

Service has now been down for almost three hours without Metronet making a public statement to explain what is happening.

One Reddit user said: “Absolutely crazy that in 2024 a complete service outage would last for more than three hours on a business day.”

“Since their entire network is down, their business customers are probably down too.

“(It's) actually crazy that it's not fixed at the start of the workday…What's even crazier is that Metronet is the best ISP where I live.”

Customers in Rochester receive service updates

There continue to be reports of widespread outages leaving thousands of users unable to access Metronet services.

Customers in Rochester have now received a service update that reads: “There is currently a service interruption that may impact your services. Our teams are working hard to resolve the issue.”

Users contact X to complain about a service outage

Users on X have expressed frustration with Metronet's lack of communication regarding the current issues.

Some have pointed out the irony of the outage, which occurred shortly after National Internet Day on October 29th.

The website is not available

The website is also down and displays a “403 Forbidden” error, meaning access to the page is denied, often due to permission issues on the server.

“Our internet connections are broken”

A user from Lafayette wrote on Reddit: “My neighbor and I are both Metronet customers and both of our internet connections went out around 3am EST. Has anyone else experienced a total failure?”

Other users responded quickly, confirming outages in Michigan, Iowa, Florida and Virginia as well.

Another user appeared to confirm that the outage occurred between 3:00 and 3:15 a.m., explaining: “I tried to go online to make sure my payment went through and all that and the website will Didn't even load properly for me. I guess I'm just glad I'm not the only one.
