With Georgia considered a contested state in the upcoming presidential election, a lot of time and energy is being invested in educating and mobilizing local voters.

As part of that effort, Gov. Tim Walz is visiting Savannah and Columbus this week as Vice President of Vice President Kamala Harris. Here's what we know about the campaign's efforts in the Peach State:

When and where will Tim Walz speak in Georgia?

Tim Walz will be in Georgia on Tuesday, October 29th. While the exact locations have not been publicly announced as of Tuesday morning, he is scheduled to speak in Savannah from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in Columbus from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m

Both events are listed as “Get Out the Early Vote” rallies.

Will Kamala Harris also be in Georgia?

Harris will not be in Georgia with Walz as she holds another rally in Washington DC. Most recently, she was in Atlanta on October 24 for a rally with former President Barack Obama and rock legend Bruce Springsteen.

Is this Tim Walz's first campaign visit to Georgia?

Tuesday is not Walz's first visit to Georgia since he was named vice president. He was in Macon and Atlanta in September where he spoke about gun violence after the shooting at Apalachee High School. He and Harris also visited the Savannah area in August.

Walz's wife, Gwen Walz, has also visited Georgia, including a two-day stay in Augusta in September with a special focus on educators and veterans.
