Trump claims he doesn't know Tony Hinchcliffe amid joking Puerto Rico spat

Former President Barack Obama also joined politicians on both sides of the aisle in condemning Hinchcliffe's comments when he rallied for Harris on Tuesday in Philadelphia – where the population is 15% Hispanic – telling the crowd: “These are fellow citizens, He's talking about, here in Philadelphia they are your neighbors, they are your friends, they are your colleagues.”

JD Vance, R-Ohio, also said he did not see the joke during a rally Monday in Wisconsin, where he suggested it was being dramatized. “We need to stop being so annoyed about every little thing in the United States of America,” he said, adding: “I'm so over it.” Hinchcliffe dismissed the remark as a joke and responded in a social media post on the backlash: “I made fun of everyone.”
