Steph Curry suffered a sprained ankle during the Golden State Warriors' 112-104 loss to the LA Clippers on Sunday, October 27. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday. During Steve Kerr's postgame press conference, he described Curry's injury as “mild to moderate.”

According to ESPN's Kendra Andrews, there are some concerns about Curry's injury as he has dealt with multiple sprains to the same ankle in the past. As such, Andrews has reported that the team is “preparing for Curry to miss time, possibly multiple games.”

In his first three games of the season, Curry averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists while shooting 41.5% from the field and 40.7% from 3-point range. His missing time out of the rotation will undoubtedly be a blow to the Warriors' chances of maintaining their strong start to the season.

However, Golden State has significant depth this season. Kerr utilized a 12-man rotation that allowed the Warriors to play at an electric pace while also giving playing time to a deep bench unit. Without Curry in the lineup, Brandin Podzieski or Buddy Hield could see themselves moving into the starting lineup.

Given that Curry has suffered from ankle issues in the past, the franchise should approach his recovery with caution. After all, we are still at the very beginning of the season. It is much more important to make sure that he is healthy for the stretch run. However, there is currently no official update from the team, so we will continue to wait to find out how serious Curry's injury is and how long he is expected to be sidelined.
