DAN CRISLER, THE WORLD HERALD

Sarpy County officers were called to the area near 143rd Street and Giles Road around 2:50 a.m. for a report of domestic violence. Two people were later pronounced dead at a residence in the Meadows subdivision, according to Sarpy County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Greg London.

London said a Sarpy County deputy fired his weapon during the incident but declined to provide further information. The residence is located in the 8700 block of South 143rd St.

“We are still in the early stages of the investigation,” London said. “Our office will issue a statement later today.”

An Omaha Fire Department ambulance and La Vista and Papillion police were on scene. Douglas County is providing emergency medical assistance in this area.
