As November 5th approaches, both the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates are ramping up their respective campaigns. Former President Donald Trump traveled to Madison Square Garden on October 27 for a rally that is now under fire after speakers made numerous racist and lewd comments targeting Vice President Kamala Harris, the Hispanic community and other marginalized people identities.

Trump was accompanied at the controversial event by his family, including his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, who brought her signature understated fashion to the event with a long, patterned coat and classic black pumps.

A favorite among highly visible women in politics, the durable shoe style features a pointed toe, slanted sole and stiletto heel. The shoes picked up her black and white printed coat, which was ankle length and tapered at the waist.

Melania Trump was absent from the campaign at most events. In one of her limited appearances, she attended the Republican National Convention in July wearing red pumps, a matching pencil skirt and a double-breasted blazer.

Vice President Harris held a rally in Houston over the weekend that featured numerous celebrities in support of the Democratic candidate, including Bruce Springsteen, Samuel L. Jackson and Beyoncé. The “Cowboy Carter” singer and Houston native took the stage in a pair of black ankle-strap Jimmy Choo pumps. Harris and former first lady Michelle Obama once appeared on stage together wearing different styles of black pumps. Ahead of next week's election, Harris' rally focused on reproductive rights.
