Melania Trump “angry and concerned” about a possible “security threat” that also worried Prince Harry

Melania Trump is reportedly “upset and concerned about a potential security threat” following the release of her late mother’s visa records.

Amalija Knavs, Melania's mother, died in January and her immigration records were recently made public by the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation.

The documents, which reportedly number approximately 165 pages, were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and include photocopies of Knavs' Slovenian passport, her naturalization certificate, her permanent resident card and personal Information such as previous addresses in Slovenia and the USA as well as details about their travel destinations.

This Heritage Foundation is also pushing for the release of Prince Harry's U.S. immigration records. They claimed that if Prince Harry had disclosed past drug use in his immigration documents – as he detailed in his memoir Spare – he should have been refused a visa. However, DHS has so far decided against disclosing Duke's immigration documents while approving the release of Knavs' documents.

Michael Wildes, Trump's immigration lawyer, said: “The fact that DHS released Ms. Knavs' immigration file after just 11 days is further evidence of the inappropriateness of this request. “How could the DOJ and Secret Service allow this breach?”

“This egregious and despicable breach of Ms. Knavs' immigration records – including highly sensitive medical information and addresses that impact the safety of her family – is an outlandish affront not only to Ms. Knavs and her family, including former First Lady Melania Trump, but also for them.” right up to the concepts of confidentiality and privacy.”

The FOIA response did include a letter from DHS stating, “We considered the foreseeable harm standard in reviewing the dataset and applied the FOIA exceptions consistent with statutory provisions and the Attorney General's guidance.”

DHS clarified that of the 165 pages reviewed, 100 pages were fully released, 37 pages were partially released, and 28 pages were fully withheld. Tow, to which Wildes responded: “The US government has once again failed to pay sufficient attention to the safety of a former First Family. “We find it malicious and insensitive to drag a completely innocent party into the dispute they are having with Prince Harry.”
