Fans may see double that this Football Sunday.

Identical twins Sydney Brown, safety for the Philadelphia Eagles, and running back Chase Brown of the Cincinnati Bengals meet on the field on Sunday, October 27th. The 24-year-old Canadian brothers were born just two minutes apart, according to CBS Sports.

“I'm looking forward to it because we've been looking forward to it since we were little kids,” Sydney said a week before playing against Chase's team in the Week 8 NFL game. “It's surreal, but we expected it. We have been working towards this and it will be cool to experience this moment with him on the field.”

Although the twins are very close, CBS Sports reported that they stopped talking on Tuesday before the game, cutting off communication. After the game everything continues as usual.

Her mother, Raechel Brown, is hoping for a draw. “That would be the best scenario. That would make me happy. I didn't know much about the NFL. I thought the only time they would play each other would be the Super Bowl and the odds are so low,” she said.

“But every four years this thing will be the biggest rivalry in our family,” Raechel added. “Whoever wins will have bragging rights for four years.”

It's not the first time that identical twins have appeared on the football field together.

In 2006, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber faced his twin brother, New York Giants running back Tiki Barber – and even managed to tackle his brother. After the game, 49-year-old Ronde said he was relieved the duels were over.

“I'm glad it's over,” he said in October 2006 Tampa Bay Times. “Actually, I didn’t like it. It's a nice side note, a caveat, but I was ready for it to be over right at the start of the game. For some reason it just doesn't feel the same anymore – I'm playing against him. Thank God that's over now.

He also mentioned how his twin behaved politely on the field. “Tiki doesn’t talk,” Ronde said at the time. “Tiki kills you with kindness. He talks sweetly to you and runs around you.”

Devin and Jason McCourty, 36, both played on the same team – the New England Patriots – in the 2018 Super Bowl, making them the first twins to play in the championship game. Both played college football for Rutgers University.

“It's very special to have someone who is close to you and has the same experiences. You can fall back on that in good times and bad,” Devin said USA today in 2023 before brothers Travis and Jason Kelce face off in the Super Bowl that year. “Especially when you can share in each other’s success.”

Devin, both cornerbacks, was with the Patriots for his entire football career, while Jason played with the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and Patriots (along with his brother from 2018-2020) before finishing his career with the Miami Dolphins .

The siblings competed against each other in 2012 when Jason was with the Titans, according to NJ.com, and in the 2021 season opener as respective captains of the Patriots and Dolphins, ESPN reported.

Other sets of twins in the NFL include Daniel and Josh Bullocks; Keith and Kerry Cash; Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin; Devon and Ricardo McDonald; Maurkice and Mike Pouncey; Rex and Rob Ryan and Rich and Ron Saul, according to ESPN.
