Yes, even Taylor Swift has “Espresso” on her mind.

On the second night of her New Orleans Eras Tour, Swift ignored continued calls for one Reputation (TV) announcement, but instead delivered something unexpected. During the acoustic portion of the evening, she released a surprise song that no one could have predicted because it's literally not in her discography.

“I'm going to sing a song that's not mine, but it's someone I really love,” she told the audience in a TikTok video shared by @lovelisapizzy. “It's stuck in my head, and I would just feel good if I knew that 65,000 other people had the sun on their minds just like me.”

From there, she launched into the first verse of “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter, who previously opened for the pop star during the Latin American leg of the Eras Tour as well as a few other international stops. After noting how “proud” she was of her friend's quick rise to the top of the charts, Swift decided to give the singer a call. Of course, it was a little difficult to understand their conversation because of all the shouting. Don't worry, Swift silenced the crowd several times, which online fans found “so disingenuous.”

“Is there any chance you could get off whatever roller coaster you're on, put on some clothes and just come down the stadium?” Swift asked Carpenter using a particularly clear video shared by @lxv.swift13. “Ballpark, how long did it take you?” The carpenter’s answer: Five seconds.
