    The time change will take place in a week. When daylight saving time disappears

    Lawmakers in several states, including Florida, have been pushing for years to keep Daylight Saving Time, or “daylight saving time,” year-round.

    But none of these efforts have succeeded and we will still be backing out in just over a week.

    Here's a look at when the clocks go back in November and a list of states that have considered or are considering a law change to observe Daylight Saving Time.

    When was the official first day of fall?

    The first day of autumn and the meteorological end of summer have already passed.

    Every year there are two equinoxes and two solstices. Equinoxes occur in fall and spring and are called fall and spring equinoxes. They mark the first official day of spring and the first official day of fall every year.

    The summer solstice this year was on a Thursday, June 20 at 4:51 p.m. EDT. And according to The Farmers' Almanac, the fall equinox occurred on Sunday, September 22nd at 8:44 a.m. EDT. The meteorological end of summer was August 31st.

    Will Florida change time in 2024?

    Florida lawmakers introduced a bill in 2021 that would extend daylight saving time from eight months of the year to year-round.

    The Sunshine Protection Act, a proposed federal law, has not received approval from the U.S. House of Representatives or the President but has been proposed in several congressional sessions in recent years and approved by the U.S. Senate in 2023.

    Florida will still fall behind this year.

    When do we fall behind in 2024? When will the time change?

    Daylight saving time for 2024 began on Sunday, March 10th at 2:00 a.m. EST for “Spring Forward” and ends on Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 a.m. EST.

    Where is there no summer time?

    According to timeanddate.com, most parts of the world do not observe Daylight Saving Time. There are 176 countries that do not observe daylight saving time at all. Japan, India and China are the largest countries on the list of places in the world that do not observe daylight saving time. Russia, most African countries and most South American countries also do not observe daylight saving time.

    Which states are eliminating daylight saving time?

    Arizona and Hawaii do not observe daylight saving time. Residents of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands also do not change their clocks.
