The Nebraska Cornhuskers continue to dominate and defy adversity

The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team won its 20th game of the season on Saturday evening. In doing so, the juggernaut squad that narrowly missed out on the national title a year ago showed that it is deadly, but that it's best not to miss out if you're coming for the queens.

The Michigan Wolverines won the first set Saturday night, ending a months-long streak forged by the Huskers. It was four games in a row without losing a single set. If UM wanted to send a message that they weren't a team to be messed with, then they did.

However, the Nebraska Cornhuskers returned the message by defeating Michigan in the next three sets to earn their final win and improve to 10-0 in the Big Ten. The official record for NU was 26-28, 25-17, 25-11, 25-21.

After the game, head coach John Cook will be shocked if a team never loses a Big Ten game this season, but the Huskers have a clean league record at the halfway point of the Big Ten season. Penn State is the only other team that could reach that mark, and right now they are busy facing USC in a late start game.

Should the two teams remain undefeated before meeting, that would mean they would both remain there until the penultimate game of the season. That would be a huge achievement, even for the loser of this duel.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers haven't lost since suffering an upset at the hands of SMU. Next up is a big game: They're playing a Wisconsin Badgers team that may be 15-4 but is still impressive and has a nine-game winning streak.
