Tonight the Vegas Golden Knights host the San Jose Sharks here at the Big Ice House on the Strip. The two teams were bitter rivals during VGK's first two seasons in the league, as the teams competed in the playoffs during Vegas' first and second years.

Original outside hitter William Karlsson returned to action after injury and brought in Tanner Pearson for a shot and a goal less than two minutes into the game.

About two minutes later, Eichel fired a shot past San Jose goalkeeper Vitek Vannecek.

The VGK had a 2-0 lead against a team from San Jose that went into this game with six losses and two draws, but no wins.

The Knights piled up their goals with a third goal. Newly signed defenseman Shea Theodore did some great stickhandling to deny a San Jose player and passed the puck to Pavel Dorofeyev near center ice. Dorofeyev tipped the puck to Tomas Hertl, who passed it to Brett Howden on the right side and Howden pushed the puck up and over Sharks goaltender Vitek Vanacek.

VGK led San Jose 3-0 after one half and had 22 shots on goal to San Jose's four.
