Minnesota Duluth's head coach is Justin Wieck, who played at Kirkwood Community College and Iowa and then served as an assistant coach and video coordinator for the Hawkeyes. He is from North Liberty and attended Iowa City West.

Wieck's six-year record at UMD is 122-49, including records of 25-6, 26-10 and 26-7 over the past three seasons. His team reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2023.
