Black Ops 6 Review: The Best We've Had in Years

After a miserable run of Call of Duty games from Vanguard to Modern Warfare III, it's refreshing to finally be able to say that this year The Call of Duty title is a Blow. Black Ops 6 is finally here and millions of players around the world are getting sucked into this triple threat of a title that offers a solid campaign, turn-based Zombies offering and an excellent multiplayer platform.

As a Call of Duty fan for almost 20 years, I'm thrilled to finally be able to recommend the latest release to anyone asking, “Is Black Ops 6 any good?” is beyond that “good,” and in this short, snappy Black Ops 6 review, I’ll explain why.

The diversity is unreal

I always First, play the campaign portion of a Call of Duty game. Last year's poor offerings left me deeply disappointed, so I went into Black Ops 6 with cautious expectations. From end to end, it took me almost seven hours to play through Black Ops 6, even on the easiest difficulty level.

As you'd expect, Black Ops 6 is a globe-trotting adventure that takes players from Russia to the US to Iraq and beyond. I can't fault the world building – everything looks flawless on screen and is a wonder to explore. The attention to detail is second to none, and the secrets and collectibles scattered throughout each mission give you a reason to look beyond the run-and-gun nature of the series.

I left the election campaign hungry for a Call of Duty style open world RPG game. Everything from the “customization” of the base of operations you unlock to the new skills and abilities you acquire with the money you find in the world gave me a reason to be much more thorough.

I don't want to spoil the story, but Black Ops fans will be happy with what's on offer. It's a classic Black Ops setting, packed with recognizable characters, a punchy soundtrack and of course references to zombies.

Magic mechanics

From the beta, we knew that Black Ops 6 was one of the most innovative games in the series in terms of movement and mechanics. From campaign to multiplayer, these mechanics are fully explored. Ahead of release, Activision's teams made tweaks to the “Omnimovement” system, making it feel like you're jumping through the air while side-firing what appears to be fully automatic handguns smooth.

The fluid movement and intuitive controls lend themselves well to an enjoyable seven hours of gameplay throughout the campaign and translate perfectly to Black Ops 6's multiplayer ecosystem. Even though I'm not thrilled with every map or mode, I rate what I've played quite highly.

I've found Black Ops 6 to be suitable for both newbies and veterans. It's the typical multiplayer offering you could ever want, but you Just get it so much faster than previous titles. Within a few games, I was able to level up my custom classes, learn about hills and spawn points, and familiarize myself with mechanics that weren't present in the beta.

It's difficult to offer a Black Ops 6 multiplayer review because it's such a subjective topic. All I can say is that I've played multiplayer in every game since Call of Duty 4 (2007) and this is the best multiplayer I've experienced in a long time. I used to enjoy Cold War – but Vanguard, MWII and MWIII left me feeling betrayed and dismayed.

I encountered a bug in the campaign that forced me to reload Checkpoint. That's about it. The AI ​​is smart enough to be mostly believable, or so the story goes something unpredictable and intriguing, and the combat feels satisfying and engaging. It's excellent game for challenging hunters – there's plenty of meat on the bones.
