Rupert Murdoch's New York Post has advocated for a second Trump presidency.

The newspaper's editorial board called the election “one of the most consequential in the history of this great nation,” adding that the decision “will have repercussions for decades.”

Citing concerns about the US border, safe cities, the US's standing on the world stage and gender, the Post says Trump is the “only” option.

The newspaper's support of the former president is notable given that it renounced Trump's presidency in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. The editorial board wrote at the time that “Trump has proven himself unworthy of being the head of this country again.”

The Post's editorial is one of several published recently: The New York Times endorsed Harris as “the only choice” for president – as did the Boston Globe.

The Los Angeles Times, meanwhile, experienced controversy over its lack of support.

Patrick Soon-Shiong, the owner of the LA Times, refused to allow an endorsement for Harris to be published – leading to the resignation of editorial director Mariel Garza. Two other board members have also resigned, reports the US media Semafor.
