Ryan Fitzpatrick has stepped up his attacks on Tom Brady on social media

Are you ready for possibly the biggest waste of time you'll experience all day?

We officially have Bucs QB beef. And when I say that, what I really mean is that a former Bucs QB is trying to get the attention of another former Bucs QB on the internet. Honestly, it's not really a problem, just strange behavior. But you can tell that one side really wants beef.

In case you don't remember the other 10,000 examples of this, Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn't particularly like Tom Brady. It goes back to one of the three times in 14 tries that Fitzpatrick beat Brady, after which Fitzpatrick received a handshake. It's an impressive achievement from Grudge Holding and not much more. But now that Fitzpatrick is a *edgy* TV analyst who wears flashy clothes and isn't afraid to go there, he's rekindled his relationship with Brady for…reasons?

At the risk of upsetting a few/every single Bucs fan, the whole thing seems super stupid. I get that Fitzpatrick is doing his best to build a brand with EPIC TWITTER TAKEDOWNS after his career where he's AFRAID OF NO ONE, but I dunno, man. I don't care that Fitzpatrick's head-to-head record against Brady is abysmal – everyone else's head-to-head record against Brady is abysmal except Eli Manning's. You didn't have to beat Brady in two Super Bowls to talk about him, but you should be funny about it.

And Ryan, what's the plan here? Are you just trying to get a bunch of random, nameless Bucs Twitter accounts to tell you you're funny? Trying to get into some weird QT beef with Brady? Are you so bored that your only option is to make boring jokes about Brady's conflict of interest between team owner and announcer? Frankly, Brady is too simple a guy for any of this to seem clever or unique. Do you think you'll really win a battle of favorite quarterbacks against the guy who won a Super Bowl with the Bucs?

There are so many good (and obvious) ways to take on Brady that it's actually impressive that Fitzpatrick managed to miss them all. I think it shouldn't be surprising how on-brand the idea of Ryan Fitzpatrick's Twitter is much better than the reality.
