Season Series: First Meeting; The Pelicans went 2-0 last season

Chicago is clearly on the road to rebuilding after losing both G's Alex Caruso and F DeMar DeRozan in the off season. Fans in the Windy City have a lot to look forward to with G.'s long-awaited return Lonzo Ball of injuries and the further development of G Coby White.

New Orleans had an eventful offseason, losing C Jonas Valanciunas and switching to G Dejounte Murray. The Pelicans need to experiment a lot with their current roster to see how or if pieces like F Brandon Ingram and G CJ McCollum will fit into this roster. NOLA will also see if Zion Williamson can play real minutes as a full-time center.

Bulls at Pelicans tips and predictions

forecast

Pelicans 118, Bulls 110

Money line

HAPPEN.

The Pelicans are the much better team, but as -275 favorites they aren't worth the risk of betting, so I recommend betting on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

Skinny Pelicans -6.5 (-110).

The Pelicans have gotten better this offseason, and with their perimeter defense likely to get even better with the addition of Murray, they're a safe bet here. On the other hand, the Bulls have performed much worse this offseason and simply won't have enough coverage here against a healthy New Orleans team.

This is a challenge due to the potential lack of players for New Orleans, but if even two of these three questionable players start, then the Pelicans can be expected to play here.

Over/Under

BET OVER 225.5 (-110).

Chicago's defense got significantly worse with the loss of Caruso, while New Orleans got better on both sides of the ball and can score points at will for the Bulls.

The Over has also scored in 8 of the last 10 meetings between these teams and is also 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans.

The only concern with this bet is whether Chicago's offense will be good enough to help this game take the over.
