Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., criticized the billionaire

“I'm not going to waste all this time on him,” Vice President Harris' vice president told the crowd in Madison, Wisconsin.

“I’m going to talk about his vice president,” he said. “Elon Musk.”

The remark sparked laughter from attendees.

“Seriously? “Where is Sen. Vance?” Walz asked.

“Elon is on that stage, bouncing around, bouncing like a dip — doing these things,” he said, likely referring to Musk’s appearance at a rally for former President Donald Trump.

“This guy is literally the richest man in the world and is spending millions of dollars to help Donald Trump buy an election,” the Minnesota governor told the crowd.

According to Walz, Trump promises “corruption” to Americans and claims he promised to put Musk in charge of regulators overseeing his businesses.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Minnesota Democrat was apparently referring to a report that Trump plans to create a government efficiency commission and appoint Musk to lead it.

Trump reportedly said the commission would conduct “a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.”

Musk has become increasingly involved in politics, particularly in the 2024 elections, working to help Republicans win campaigns. The billionaire has, among other things, launched a voter turnout PAC, donated significant amounts to other groups and launched a controversial million-dollar raffle to battleground voters.

“That’s the good news, Madison,” Walz said Tuesday. “Donald Trump will never be president. Elon Musk will never run anything.”
