Walmart employee found dead in walk-in oven of Canadian store: police

The Walmart store in Halifax, Nova Scotia, remains closed after the woman was found dead around 9:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, Halifax police said Monday. In an update Tuesday, police identified the woman as an employee of the store and confirmed that she was found in a walk-in oven in the store's bakery section.

Investigators have not determined the cause or manner of the woman's death, nor have they released her name to the public. A Sikh leader in Halifax identified the woman to CBC as a member of the Sikh community.

“The investigation is complex and involves multiple partner agencies,” Halifax police said in a statement. “An investigation of this type can take a lot of time.”
