Today it's windy and much cooler, then it's gradually getting warmer

Temperatures will only reach the upper 60s this afternoon with a breezy northeasterly wind. This is well below average for this time of year. There is an increased risk of fire due to the dry and windy conditions. Burning anything outdoors is strongly discouraged. Please observe all local burning bans. Get ready for an even colder night. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to around 40 degrees. Large-scale frost is not expected. However, our northern communities may experience some light frost patches. From today onwards the temperatures will gradually rise again. Highs will reach nearly 80 degrees this weekend. We'll be back in the low to mid 80s early next week.
