QUICK CONCLUSIONS

BLUES The St. Louis Blues look to continue their undefeated season after pulling off another multi-goal comeback win on Thursday night, defeating the San Jose Sharks 5-4 in overtime.

After trailing 4-1 at the start of the third period, the Blues' fourth line went on a full-throttle run, scoring two goals in less than four minutes. Blues rookies and former Dallas stars Radek Faksa and Ryan Suter found the net to cut the Sharks' lead to 4-3. With 47 seconds left, Justin Faulk scored the game-winning goal, sending the game into overtime.

Captain Brayden Schenn carried that momentum into overtime, completing the comeback with the game-winning goal just 45 seconds into overtime. With 11 Blues points in the win over the Sharks, Schenn said it was a true team win.

“We play for each other,” Schenn said. “And I know it's still early and it's only been two games, but we have a lot of new faces here. We have a good feeling in our locker room where the guys play for each other, the guys speak their minds, the guys bring energy and the guys just play together, and when you do that, good things happen.”

GOLDEN KNIGHTS The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off an 8-4 season-opening win over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena.

Five Golden Knights contributed multiple points in the win, with forwards Ivan Barbashev, Victor Olofsson and Mark Stone each scoring two goals. Additionally, Jack Eichel recorded four assists.

It was the Golden Knights' sixth consecutive opening win, the longest active streak in the NHL.

Despite losing several key players from the 2023 Stanley Cup Champions squad this offseason, Vegas has plenty of new faces and big names to feature. Their biggest acquisitions came at the trade deadline last year: forward Tomas Hertl from San Jose and defenseman Noah Hanifin from Calgary.

The Golden Knights finished fourth in the Pacific Division last year, clinching the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They were eliminated in the first round, losing to the Dallas Stars in seven games.
