JoJo Siwa is a fan of Beyoncé, even though a joke she made at the Industry Dance Awards caused a stir this week.

The Dancing mothers alum weighed in on an out-of-control internet thing on Tuesday (October 8) when she shouted out the “Break My Soul” singer onstage at the ceremony and told the crowd, “I have to thank Beyoncé too “Just so we can protect the dance community.”

“Beyoncé, you have great music,” Siwa added at the time, as viewers groaned and laughed at the same time. “We all love dancing to it. We all love you. … Someone had to do it, and I’m going to be that someone.”

Although the “Karma” singer's thank you may seem sincere, it actually stems from a trend among some social media users to jokingly give Bey flowers at every opportunity in order to stay on her good side and/or have a successful career to maintain. However, some people have given the joke a darker meaning, as there are currently unconfirmed rumors that the 32-time Grammy winner and Jay-Z are connected to the alleged crimes of Sean “Diddy” Combs, as is currently the founder of Bad Boy Records does He is in custody awaiting trial on sex trafficking and extortion charges.

When asked about her joke by Us weekly A day after the Industry Dance Awards, Siwa said: “The internet will run on whatever it runs on.”

“They're doing their thing and I can't predict what they're going to do,” the 21-year-old TikTok star added. “I think Beyoncé is amazing and she wrote a lot of incredible music that we all used (and danced to).”

But while Siwa and other people online don't take certain comments about Bey seriously, the “Texas Hold 'Em” artist's legal team does. After Piers Morgan called out Jaguar Wright on his show UncensoredBeyoncé and Jay-Z's lawyer told the polarizing media personality to remove the content from his channel – and Morgan complied with the request.

“Their lawyers contacted us and told us that these allegations were completely false and had no basis in fact,” Morgan said on another episode of his show earlier this week. “We have therefore complied with the legal request to edit it out of the original interview. Editing interviews isn't something we do on a show called ” Uncensored. But like the proverbial screams of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits for us too. And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
