Philadelphia Phillies fans are hoping singer Sabrina Carpenter can save the team's season. She performed in Philly at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night to a sold-out crowd in her hometown.

While he performed the show for her Short and sweet On her tour, she made the wayward moms in the audience happy, at least briefly, by trading in her underwear for a custom-made Carpenter 69 Phillies jersey.

Carpenter also added a message to her Instagram Story. It read: “Hometown Show!!! I can't believe I played in the arena I grew up in. I love you forever, Philly.”

That's all fans who watched their team lose 7-2 to the New York Mets on Tuesday night needed to see to believe their luck would soon turn.

They lost two games to one in the National League Division Series and face elimination on Wednesday. They feel like the Phillies will win the next two games to win the series.

Can Sabrina Carpenter give the Phillies the boost they need to keep their season alive?

That's easier said than done. This Mets team is a physical team that plays good baseball at the right time. Some have even called the Mets a team of destiny.

If they take the series from the Phillies, there's a good argument that they are. They are putting together a number of runs and giving Mets fans a lot of hope that they can make a strong run in the postseason.

On the other side of the field, it might look like a desperate attempt by fans to find hope in the fact that Carpenter is taking the stage in a Phillies jersey. I get that, but crazy things happen in the postseason.

If the Phillies manage to win Game 4, it will 100 percent be the case based on Carpenter's performance in the '69 jersey. Then with a winner take all in Game 5 in Philadelphia, anything could happen and fan confidence would skyrocket.

Did Sabrina Carpenter just save the Phillies season? We'll see.
