EVANSVILLE – The 2024-25 girls basketball season officially begins this week. The Courier & Press will release its preseason content in the coming days, starting with what this state is best known for: basketball talent.

Let's take a look, in alphabetical order, at the 70 Southwest Indiana players to watch this winter. Some are familiar names. Some return to regulars or take on expanded roles. Others not on the list, such as newcomers who play right away, could surprise us in February.

Brynna Alpers, memorial

The sophomore forward averaged 3.8 points and 2.0 rebounds for the SIAC champions.

Grace Archer, Vincennes Lincoln

The junior forward is the Alices' leading returner scorer with 8.2 points per game.

Jenna Berg, Forest Park

The junior guard averaged 10.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Second Team All-PAC.

Hannah Bledsoe, Barr Reeve

The senior forward averaged 10.6 points and 8.6 rebounds. All-Blue Chip and All-State honorable mention.

Libby Blythe, North

The senior guard averaged 12.4 points on 66 three-pointers and 4.0 rebounds. Second Team All-SIAC.

Ella Bobe, South Knox

The senior guard averaged 19.1 points on 53 percent shooting, 43 three-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.3 steals. All-State and All-Blue Chip. The Spartans' all-time leading scorer.

Addi Boots, Mater Dei

The junior guard averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds for the Wildcats.

Myla Browning, memorial

The senior guard averaged 9.1 points, 3.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds. Second Team All-SIAC.

Rylee Canaan, memorial

The second-year forward averaged 10.5 points and 5.2 rebounds. Butler obliged.

Brynna Collins, North Knox

The veteran forward averaged 8.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.4 steals. All blue chip.

Ayla Elkins, Jasper

The junior guard averaged 9.7 points and shot 39 percent from three for the Wildcats.

Azaria Finn, North

The second-year guard averaged 6.8 points on 35 three-pointers and 2.0 rebounds.

Reese Ford, Tell City

The junior guard averaged 14.4 points with 28 three-pointers and 4.1 rebounds. Second Team All-PAC.

Aubrey Frank, Washington

The senior guard averaged 7.4 points with 31 three-pointers, 3.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds. First-team All-PAC. Franklin obliged.

Lexi Frey, Vincennes Rivet

The senior guard averaged 14.6 points with 83 three-pointers, 6.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists. All blue chip.

Kenna Garland, Washington

The senior guard averaged 9.2 points with a team-high 38 three-pointers.

Olivia Gilley, Washington

The senior forward averaged 6.6 points on 53 percent shooting and 4.8 rebounds for the group winners.

Izabell Grantz, Castle

The senior guard averaged 4.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the Knights.

Bella Hall, Evansville Christian

The junior forward averaged 8.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.2 steals for the Eagles.

Bailey Hape, Reitz

The junior guard averaged 13.6 points with 46 three-pointers, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists. All-State honorable mention and Second Team All-SIAC.

Alexis Harris, South Spencer

The second-year guard averaged 10.6 points with 52 three-pointers, 3.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds. All-PAC honorable mention.

Raven Jones, Princeton

The junior forward averaged 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals for the Tigers.

Kendall Kaiser, Reitz

The junior forward averaged 4.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 steals for the Panthers.

Avery Kelley, Central

The senior guard has 4.8 points, 2.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds. One of the top defenders in the SIAC. Franklin obliged.

The junior forward averaged 8.8 points on 55 percent shooting and 4.8 rebounds for the Wildcats.

Maddy Knies, North

The senior forward averaged 8.8 points on 51 percent shooting and 7.0 rebounds for the Huskies.

Hadley Leibering, Heritage Hills

The veteran forward averaged 9.9 points on 55 percent shooting and 6.9 rebounds. All-PAC honorable mention.

The second-year guard averaged 7.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists for the Wildcats.

Mayci Litherland, Heritage Hills

Katelyn Marx, Tecumseh

The senior guard averaged 10.2 points and made a team-high 25 three-pointers for the Braves.

Kahre McCrary, Vincennes Lincoln

The senior guard averaged 7.9 points for the Alices.

Alyssa McCutchan, Pike Central

The second-year guard averaged 8.2 points with 35 three-pointers and 2.6 rebounds for the Chargers.

Alex McKinley, North Knox

Kaelyse Mitchell, Reitz

Lexi Primus, North Knox

The junior guard averaged 13.0 points with 53 three-pointers, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals. All-State and All-Blue Chip. Lipscomb obliged.

Nola Ravellette, Gibson Southern

The veteran forward averaged 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds for the national champions.

Katie Reed, Washington

Evie Sale, North
